Tamara Wolfson - Acupuncture

Tamara Wolfson, M.S., L.Ac. 18 Years experience My background has focused on bridging both Western and Eastern medical, philosophical and spiritual traditions together and in expanding the understanding of the mind-body connection in relationship to health and well-being. My private acupuncture practice is founded upon a firm commitment and intention to create the opportunity for people to have a greater array of options to utilize in understanding themselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

My acupuncture specialty includes musculo-skeletal conditions, myofascial constriction chronic pain and the psycho-emotional aspects of health. I have thorough training in the use of acupuncture trigger point therapy and Oriental medical manipulation in addition to the use of Chinese herbology. I place a strong emphasis on diet and include nutritional counseling as an integral part of my practice. I have extensive experience working with conditions ranging from severe traumatic injury to cancer, women’s issues, HIV, sports injury, chronic pain, arthritis, diabetes and fatigue.

I have completed two degrees in Chinese medicine comprised of over 7 years of formal study and 18 years of clinical practice. During my oriental medical training I studied healing foods from an energetic perspective with a highly respected teacher, Jeffery Yuen, who is the 88th generation lineage holder of the Jade Purity school of Taoism. In addition, I am a faculty member at John F. Kennedy University where I teach introduction to Chinese medicine and healing food classes in their graduate program for Holistic Health. The model appeals as it is an opportunity for our community to access a powerful healing system without significant financial stress.
